The Faculty of Educational and Professional Sciences is one of the key faculties of Kabul University of Education, playing a pivotal role as the backbone of the university. This faculty not only specializes in its own academic disciplines but also contributes significantly to all eight faculties of the university by offering over 20% of the professional courses across various fields. This aligns with the professional objectives of Kabul University of Education.
Additionally, the faculty is responsible for training specialized and professional personnel in the field of Educational and Professional Sciences. Its graduates acquire academic and professional competencies in these fields. Currently, the faculty offers three bachelor's programs (1. General Education, 2. Educational Management, and 3. Pre-School and Primary Education) and two master's programs (1. Education and 2. Leadership and Educational Management).
At present, the faculty has 24 lecturers, including 4 with doctoral degrees, 18 with master's degrees, and 2 with bachelor's degrees. These faculty members, holding academic ranks from Assistant Professor to Full Professor, are engaged in teaching and mentoring the youth of the country.
Brief History of the Faculty
Before 2004, the Faculty of Educational and Professional Sciences functioned as a department called "Psychology and Education" within the Faculty of Social Sciences.
In 2006, it was officially recognized as the Faculty of Vocational Education under Kabul University of Education, with two departments: Psychology and Education. In 2013, the faculty’s name was changed from the Faculty of Vocational Education to the Faculty of Educational and Professional Sciences. In 2014, three departments were established within the faculty: General Education, Educational Management, and Pre-School and Primary Education.
Up to 2024, the faculty has graduated 15 cohorts in General Education, 6 cohorts in Educational Management, and 6 cohorts in Pre-School and Primary Education at the bachelor's level. Currently, students are enrolled in these three programs, studying from the first to the fourth year. The faculty also has a small library and 8 classrooms for students of all three departments.
The first master's program in the faculty was launched in 2008 with financial support from the HEP project and in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts in the field of Education. Additionally, in 2016, the Educational Leadership and Management master's program was established with funding from the USWDP and USAID projects and in partnership with the University of Massachusetts. The first cohort of graduates from this program was presented to society in 2017.

As a model of high-quality higher education in the field of Educational and Professional Sciences, the faculty prioritizes programs at the bachelor's level in General Education, Educational Management, and Pre-School and Primary Education, as well as master's programs in Education, Leadership, and Educational Management. These programs are designed to meet the academic and professional needs of the country’s education system.

- Presentation and publication of twelve internal research articles in the scientific-research journal Payam-e-Ma’refat by faculty professors.
- Presentation and publication of seventeen international research articles in international journals by faculty professors.
