History and Introduction of the Research Department
Universities serve as pivotal centers for research, knowledge generation, and dissemination, fostering academic, research, and technical advancements. Their primary responsibility is to develop and apply knowledge globally. Recognizing this mission, the leadership of Kabul Education University established the Research Center in 2010. In 2019, the center was upgraded to the Department of Research, expanding its scope and responsibilities. In 2023, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and the Ministry of Higher Education established the position of Vice-Chancellor of Research and Academic Journals at 25 universities, including Kabul Education University. Consequently, the Department of Research was integrated into this structure alongside the Department of Journals, the Public Library, and the office for Creativity and Innovations. The Department of Research has a Main Committee at the university level and nine Faculty Subcommittees. These bodies ensure systematic research management and have contributed significantly to the university's research advancements.
The Department of Research is headed by Senior Teaching Assistant Mujeebullah Ahmadzai, a member of the Environmental Protection Department. Mr. Sohil-ur-Rahman Mansoor manages administrative operations, while Mr. Taza Mir Nazari serves as the Research Specialist. The Main Committee comprises highly qualified faculty members holding master's and doctoral degrees, while the Subcommittees consist of faculty representatives who actively contribute to research activities.
