Job Description of the Directorate of Academic Staff Affairs

  1. To oversee the implementation of laws, regulations, and policies related to academic staff affairs and to ensure the effective, transparent, and lawful administration of faculty-related matters.

    Coordination Responsibilities:

  3. Coordinate with the Academic Affairs Division and other relevant bodies regarding the recruitment and appointment of new academic staff in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  4.  Forward faculty-related documents to the respective faculties for completion of required procedures.
  5.  Maintain effective coordination with all relevant departments and administrative units whenever necessary.
  6.  Perform other duties assigned by the competent authority in accordance with the policies, laws, and regulations of the Ministry of Higher Education.
  7. Managerial Responsibilities:

  8. Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans in accordance with the objectives and plans of the university leadership.
  9.  Transfer professional knowledge and skills to subordinate staff through workshops, seminars, and on-the-job training programs.
  10.  Assess staff performance, identify training needs, and support capacity-building initiatives.
  11. Submit monthly, quarterly, annual, and ad hoc reports on activities and achievements to the relevant authorities.

  13. Review and evaluate academic credentials and records of faculty members for the identification, recruitment, and appointment of qualified academic staff.
  14.  Provide required information and documentation to appointment, separation, and academic promotion committees to facilitate informed decision-making.
  15.  Monitor and supervise faculty appointment and separation processes to ensure fairness, transparency, and compliance with applicable regulations.
  16. Follow up on committee decisions and communicate them to relevant authorities for further legal and administrative actions.
  17.  Oversee the maintenance, preservation, and archiving of academic staff records to ensure an efficient and standardized filing system.
  18.  Monitor academic promotion procedures, verification of academic ranks, and communication of committee decisions to relevant authorities.
